T5 fluorescent grow lights are much more efficient than incandescent lighting, delivering far more lumen output while consuming far less power. T5 fixtures have long been the vegging light of choice, although the NextLight Veg 8 has taken over that designation for many.

When it comes to flowering, T5 fluorescent lighting can handle it, but

it is not as efficient as other options, like LED lights and HID lights, especially for larger grows (more than a few plants).
