DIY kits let experienced users customize plates, heaters, and frames. Manual presses suit hobbyists, hydraulics/pneumatics are ideal for higher volume or more controlled extraction, and electric versions are ideal for convenience and small-scale consistency.
Key factors to consider:
It depends on your needs:
Summary: A 2-ton press is fine for beginners or occasional small batches, but if you plan to press regularly or in deeper batches, consider stepping up to 4–7 tons.
Do not press fresh- or wet-frozen buds directly. Here's why:
Recommendation: Only press buds that are properly cured and dried (~60–68% RH). If aiming for “live rosin,” freeze immediately, bubble/wash to make hash, dry/hash, then press.
Most rosin producers use Jar Tech, curing rosin in a sealed glass jar either cold (40–70 °F for 1–7 days, checking periodically for terpene “pools” and stirring) or warm (90–135 °F for a few hours, followed by gentle heat for up to a week) to stabilize texture, enhance flavor, and improve shelf life; cold curing preserves terpenes and yields a buttery (badder) consistency, while warm curing can create jam, sauce, or diamond textures—stick with what matches your desired outcome
An excellent piece of machinery, very easy to use, and produces excellent results. Knowing the proper bags to use with the type of product your processing is key to optimal results, so do your research and get the most out of this amazing press!
As you would expect form a premium duct fan the build quality is high. I have purchased a could of AC Infinity small fans for cabinet/pc cooling before. I have a couple other cheap duct fans for some shop use, but they do not compare to this large unit.
The S12 can blow a substantial amount of air at low speeds and be very quiet doing so, but has the capability for impressively high airflow as well.
I will be setting it up as a whole house fan for a smaller dwelling, so fixed speed (no controller) was fine. I expect it to easily handle the task.
Experience at GrowLightCentral was great. Low price, quick shipping.
The fan seems well designed and built. The design allowed installation in hard duct work w/o needing a flex section. Not necessary in most installations, but important in mine. Whisper quiet at low speeds. Pleased to discover that the speed control returned to the last selected speed after a power failure.
