Push Deeper Canopy Growth with DRAGON alpha III’s Patented Optics for Even Light Distribution

Maximize yields with even light distribution, energy savings, and scalable installation.

The DRAGON Alpha III takes precision growing to the next level, delivering optimized light distribution, energy efficiency, and seamless scalability for commercial and high-end home grows. With an advanced passively cooled heatsink, this fixture runs cooler while cutting power consumption. Its patented optics evenly distribute light from all angles, ensuring deeper canopy penetration and consistent growth from top to bottom. Plus, the power daisy-chain system makes installation faster and more cost-effective, allowing growers to scale effortlessly without extra wiring complexity.

What is the Linear 70 Optic?

The Linear 70 optic is a specialized lens technology that distributes light evenly across the plant canopy. Unlike traditional LED grow lights that create hotspots (areas of excessive light intensity) directly beneath the fixture, the Linear 70 spreads light more uniformly, mimicking natural sunlight.

How It Works and Why It’s Better

Traditional LED fixtures often have uneven light distribution, where the center receives too much light, leading to burned leaves, while the edges get too little, resulting in weaker plant growth.

  • The Linear 70 optic solves this problem by delivering equal-intensity light from all angles, ensuring that every part of the plant canopy receives the same amount of light.
  • This technology prevents hotspots and burn damage, allowing plants to absorb light efficiently and safely.
  • Ensures uniform light penetration, even in larger grow spaces such as warehouses and greenhouses.
  • Allows the Alpha III to be hung between 24” and 72” (2 to 6 feet) above the canopy while maintaining the same light intensity across the plants.

Is the DRAGON Alpha III Energy-Efficient?

Absolutely. While traditional HPS lights struggle at 1.3–1.7 µmol/J, the DRAGON Alpha III crushes it with 2.51+ µmol/J, delivering more usable light per watt and dramatically lowering energy costs. That means higher yields, lower overhead, and a more sustainable grow operation. Whether you're running hydroponics, soil, or coco, this fixture keeps your power bill in check while supercharging plant growth.

Alpha’s Spectrum Control Feature and What Sets It Apart

Instead of using pre-set spectrums or multiple drivers like competitors, Scynce’s full-power spectrum tuning technology ensures that plants receive the exact light they need at every growth stage without losing intensity. This means:

  1. White Light Customization (2700K - 6500K)
  • You can adjust the spectrum between warm (2700K) and cool (6500K) white light.
  • This allows precise tuning for different plant growth stages—warmer light for flowering, cooler light for vegetative growth.
  • No loss of power means that even while shifting between spectrums, the total photon output remains constant at up to 1,000 PPF.

2. Red/Far-Red Channel (660nm & 730nm)

  • Over 500 PPF of red (660nm) and far-red (730nm) light can be adjusted independently.
  • You can choose to:

-Evenly split the red and far-red light for balanced plant growth.

-Turn off far-red to promote compact, bushy plants.

-Increase far-red to enhance flowering and speed up growth cycles.

3. Total Output of 1,482 PPF

  • The Alpha LED light delivers a total of 1,482 PPF of plant-growing photonic power.
  • Unlike many competitors, it maintains full power output regardless of spectrum tuning.
  • No compromises on intensity, ensuring maximum efficiency and yield.

FAQs

How many watts do I need for my grow space?

The wattage depends on the size of your grow tent or room. A general guideline is 30-50 watts per square foot for high-light plants like cannabis. For example, a 2x2 ft area may need 100-200W, while a 4x4 ft area may require 400-600W for optimal coverage.

What is the difference between full-spectrum and red/blue LED grow lights?

Full-spectrum LED lights mimic natural sunlight, providing a balanced mix of blue (for vegetative growth) and red (for flowering and fruiting) light. Red/blue LED lights focus on specific wavelengths but may not support plants as effectively as full-spectrum lights.
